How to Retrieve Messages from iCloud Backup?

It happens that people may delete text messages from iPhone by accident and want to get them back later. Usually, people use iCloud as a daily data backup tool. As of you have turned the iCloud on, all your text messages and iMessages will be stored to the iCloud server automatically. So we can retrieve the deleted messages from iCloud backup.

But to retrieve data from iCloud means restoring your device with iCloud data, and all existing data on your device will be erased. Apple won’t let you retrieve only messages. So what should we do?

Step 1: Sign in iCloud

Launch the software, select the “Recover from iCloud Backup File” tab. Then you could see the window as below.

Now sign in iCloud with your iCloud account. Then select the proper iCloud backup file and click “Download” button.

Step 2: Select and scan iCloud data

Then you need to select the data type. You just need to check the “Messages & Attachments” item to shorten download time.

Then click “Start Scan” button to start download and scan the selected messages from iCloud.

Step 3: Retrieve selected messages from iCloud

After a few minutes, you could view all found data listed on the result window. Click “Messages” category and preview the text messages and iMessages.

You can select the messages items you need and click “Recover” button to recover selected messages from iCloud.

If you connect your iPhone to computer, you can directly recover messages to the device.
